Friday, July 29, Update

Yesterday we presented at two venues, Baptist Theological Seminary and the University of Cape Town (UCT). It was a privilege and opportunity to share this gripping story with these seminarians! They have an assignment in August to share orally for 5 minutes how God called them to seminary and what call God has placed on their life. For those who are unsure of God's call the At Any Cost story was a God appointment for them. It was obvious that the students were challenged, moved and motivated by this, His story. We pray for God to continue to work in their hearts. At UCT there were 53 students in attendance, most of them believers. They have 25 Bible studies on campus with approx. 10 students per study. The challenge is for these believers to invite their pre-Christian friends to the presentation on Aug 4 at UCT. Please pray with us for courage and boldness for these students. Tonight we present at the University of Western Cape, another secular venue.

God is keeping most of the group healthy. Devanie Cooke was not feeling well yesterday, a headache and slight fever, so we had her stay back and in bed to rest. The team prayed fervently for her. She is well today and functioning on all cylinders-praise God!

Our schedule has been rigorous and we are a bit tired. Tomorrow is a free day, thank you Lord! We went to a game park several days ago & saw some real African animals; rhinos, hippos, crocs, giraffe, lions, we petted a lion cub, spring bok, wildebeest (sp?), ostrich, & zebra. Today prior to our presentation we will take the ferry to Robben Island to view the prison where anti-Apartheid activists were incarcerated, i.e. Nelson Mandela. The team needs to understand and appreciate the wrong that was done in this country and to hear of the hearts of forgiveness from the former inmates who are now tour guides..

The weather continues to be mild and with little rain. This is so different than in 2001 when we experienced the worst winter in 50 years. Thank you Lord for these blessings!

The team continues to present each time as if it were the first. God's strength is very real in our lives. We are benefiting from your prayers and feel totally covered. South African Airlines has been on strike for nearly a week and there was some concern if we would return on time. The strike ended today. God continues to show us He is in control.

Talk to you soon. I will send pictures soon too. There isn't enough time to do email & pictures. Thanks for your patience, especially my brother John Talbot!

At any cost,
Dave for Donna and the Team
