Subject: See What God is doing!
July 23, 2005
Last night God really impacted hearts at Meadowridge Baptist. There were
150+ teens from 6-12 grades. 99.9% had never heard the story. They were
attentive and very respectful as they listened to the story. At the end,
I shared the story of why did they have to die? (on our website
www.atanycost.org) and included my brief testimony of God saving me at
13 years of age and then asked, "Has anything like this happened to
you?" The youth pastors Shelly and Evalt made some additional closing
comments and extended an invitation. There were at least 30 young people
who stayed in their seats praying and sitting motionless, digesting what
they had just heard. It was amazing! The team and leaders counseled with
many teens. We ran out of counselors. The youth pastor told me he sat
beside one of his teens and asked him how the story had impacted his
life. All he could do was to cry and cry. We presented from 8-9:15 and
we did not leave the church until 10:45 pm. I have never seen God
impact teens in such a powerful way through this story. We
praise Him for using us to share this old-contemporary story, once
again. This was great for the five new members of our team to experience
and witness the power of this 49 year old story! It was difficult for
the team to get to sleep because we were on such a spiritual high!
Today, Saturday is a day off. We went on cable cars to the top of
and
WOW what fantastic, 360 degree views of God's creation; the Indian Ocean
& coast and all the geography around Cape Town. It was a beautiful day,
all sun no clouds. We then went to the waterfront to shop in the many
booths, stores and sidewalk vendors. It was a restful day and just at
the right time.
Tomorrow we will attend Kings of Kings Church from 9-10:30 (Pastor John
and Avril Thomas began and own CCFm radio, our hosts) and Masiphulmelele
Baptist Church from 11-12:30 (this will be an authentic So. African
worship experience). Sun night we are excited to revisit, His Glory
Church. This is the church where in 2001 the pastor was ready to quit
until he experienced the At Any Cost story and said, "How can I quit
when these five men gave their lives for Christ. I will tell my people
that their pastor is back and will continue at any cost." Well after
four years he is still pastoring. Praise God!!! He has invited the team
back and feels that this is an early birthday present for him from the
Lord! May God use us once again in ways only He can arrange!
We continue to be healthy and the equipment is functioning well.
God Sightings:
- response of the teens to the story at Meadowridge Baptist Church
Until next time, thanks for covering us with your many prayers. We now
have prayer warriors from Valley Springs Presbyterian Church in
Roseville too.
At any cost,
Dave for Donna and the Team
